The endocrine system controls hormone levels in our bodies. Hormones influence and regulate our bodies in many important ways, from stress and mood, to sleeping, eating and growing.  When there is an imbalance of hormones, it can have serious consequences on health and you should be seen by our endocrinologists.

Conditions We Treat

The Division of Endocrinology, Diabetes and Metabolism provides comprehensive evaluation, care, and treatment of hospitalized and ambulatory patients with problems of the endocrine system such as:

  • Adrenal disease
  • Diabetes mellitus
  • Lipid disorders
  • Metabolic bone diseases
  • Pituitary gland disorders
  • Thyroid disease

The endocrinologists at Augusta University Health are trained experts in their sub-specialties.  They work with teams of surgeons, radiologists, nurses, and support staff to address your specific endocrine disorder.  We provide:

  • Adrenal Care: Patients with adrenal gland disorders can be seen at our center for complete care of adrenal disease.
  • Diabetes Care: Augusta University Diabetes Care Center staffed by physicians, diabetes educators and nutritionists who offer specialized clinics for diabetes management. The program is accredited by the American Diabetes Association.
  • Kidney Stone Clinic
  • Metabolic Bone Disease Center: Provides care for patients with the full spectrum of metabolic bone disorders. The center has facilities for bone densitometry analysis (DEXA).
  • Pituitary Clinic: When patients have problems with their pituitary glands, we refer them to our Neuroscience Center of Excellence right here on campus.
  • Thyroid and Parathyroid Care: Offering diagnosis and treatment to manage thyroid and parathyroid disease, including surgeries if needed.

  • Bring a photo ID
  • Bring your insurance, Medicare or Medicaid cards
  • Please bring a complete list of your current medications and dosages. For your convenience, you may download the Medication Form to bring to your appointment.
