Co-founder REACH Call Telestroke, a nationally recognized telemedicine service founded at GRHealth. REACH makes neurological consults more available to patients in rural areas. This pioneering telemedicine service lets stroke specialist at Georgia Health Sciences diagnose and treat stroke patients at member hospitals from anywhere, at any time, through a standard computer, Web cam and broadband Internet connection. Dr. Gross is credentialed in 18 hospitals throughout Georgia to provide telemedicine consults for acute stroke management. Dr. Gross is heavily involved in Telemedicine and provides acute stroke care via Internet using the MCG designed system called REACH (www.REACHHealth.com). In Oct 2011 he was appointed to the Executive board of the new Emergency Telemedicine Section of ACEP. He also coordinates and provides medical coverage at local community events such as Drag Boat Races, Air Show, Ironman, and the Masters. He also helps set up an examination for a Wilderness Medicine Adventure Race (www.MedWAR.org) as well as doing field medical and rescue training and fill in clinic coverage for military contracts. He is Co-editor and Co-author of Global Medical Mission, Preparation, Procedure, Practice. Dr. Gross has been traveling to the Developing World 1 – 2 times annually for the past 12 years. He has been an instructor in the Advanced Medical Leadership Training course for all but one year. He has been on student trips as well. Using the field laboratory and microscope is a favorite activity, next to catching insects in the many countries visited over the years.
