Pushpa Shivaram, MD

I am an Assistant professor of Pediatrics at Augusta University. I serve as Program Director for the pediatric cardiology training program and Director of the Fetal heart program. I was extensively educated in India during my medical school year subsequently followed by a pediatric residency with a great focus on pediatric cardiology. I underwent residency training again at the Marshfield Clinic in Wisconsin and completed my pediatric cardiology fellowship at the University of Arkansas medical sciences, Arkansas. I have practiced in pediatric acute care and emergency services during my fellowship career. I am a clinician-educator with a passion for teaching.

  • Clinical Interests

    Diagnosis and management of congenital and acquired cardiac defects. Use of multi-modality imaging in the management of congenital and acquired cardiac defects such as cardiac Imaging like 2D,3D echocardiography, Fetal echocardiograms, TEE, CT, and cardiac MRI. I run the pediatric metabolic health clinics and provide care for children with pediatric hypertension, pediatric lipid disorders, Kawasaki disease, overweight, and Obesity
    To provide world-class maternal-fetal care via fetal echocardiographic expertise.

    Augusta University/CHOG offers a state of heart health care to children of Georgia state. My role as a clinical cardiologist is to provide accessible and quality health care to all those who need pediatric and fetal heart expertise. With me being an educator, my main purpose of teaching is to invoke interest and curiosity about pediatric and congenital heart disease in our young and aspiring doctors through education and scholarship.
